What is a workout timer?

A workout timer keeps you to your rest times and counts your sets, so a session follows the plan instead of your phone. In Tapsle, set the timer to add one for every set plus its rest, for example every 2 minutes, with a target for the number of sets.

  • Set plus rest, any length
  • A beep for the next set
  • Sets counted to your target
  • One counter per exercise
Timer mode, in Tapsle

Any counter becomes a workout timer.

Open a counter’s settings, switch Counting to Timer and set the schedule. Tapsle adds to the count on every interval, plays your sound, and stops at the target. Pause from the card whenever you need to.

Strength sets with honest rest

Rest times slip when you check your phone. Set the interval to your set and rest together, such as 3 minutes for heavy squats, and the beep tells you when the next set starts. The count shows the set you are on.

Circuits and home workouts

For a circuit, add a counter per station and run them in order, or use one counter with a short interval and move station on every beep.

Workout timer questions

How do I time rest between sets?

Set the interval to your set plus rest, for example 2 minutes, and the target to the number of sets. The beep tells you when to start the next one.

Can I time several exercises?

Yes. Add a counter for each exercise with its own interval and target. Free includes one running timer, so start each exercise when you get to it.

Does it count reps?

The timer counts sets. To count reps inside a set, add a manual counter and tap it, or use a push up counter.

Is Tapsle free?

Yes. Unlimited counters, targets, steps, notes, lock, focus mode, pop out and export are free, with no account. Free includes up to 5 groups and 1 counter on a timer. Tapsle Plus adds sync, backups, longer history, shared counters and integrations, for $2.99 a month or $25.99 a year.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Can I export my counters?

Yes, free. Export saves every counter to one file, and Import brings them back on any device. Your counts belong to you.

Can I keep the timer on screen while I train?

Yes, on Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the workout timer floats above your workout video, still beeping and counting sets. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.

What is the difference between Free and Plus?

Free is the counter: unlimited counters, up to 5 groups, 1 timer counter, targets, offline use, export and 7 days of history. Plus is memory: sync across up to 5 devices, nightly backups, 60 days of history with charts, shared counter links, unlimited groups and timers, and integrations. Cancelling Plus never removes a counter.

Next set. We will keep count.

Free, no account, and every set is counted.
