What is an interval timer?

An interval timer signals the end of each fixed period, so you can switch exercise, position or task without watching the clock. In Tapsle, a timer adds one to the counter and plays a sound at every interval, so the round number is always on screen.

  • Any interval, seconds to hours
  • A sound and a count on each one
  • A target that ends the routine
  • Pause and resume at any time
Timer mode, in Tapsle

Any counter becomes an interval timer.

Open a counter’s settings, switch Counting to Timer and set the schedule. Tapsle adds to the count on every interval, plays your sound, and stops at the target. Pause from the card whenever you need to.

Interval timer for EMOM and circuits

EMOM means every minute on the minute: start a set of reps at the top of each minute and rest for what is left. Set the interval to 1 minute and a target of 10, and Tapsle tells you when each minute starts and how many are done.

Not just for workouts

The same timer works as a reminder to drink water every hour, stand up every 30 minutes, or rotate stations in a classroom. Pick the interval and let the count keep track.

Interval timer or a stopwatch?

A stopwatch tells you how long. An interval timer tells you when, and how many.

Interval timer questions

How do I set the interval?

Open the counter settings, choose Timer and set how often it adds one, for example every 30 seconds. Set a target if you want it to stop after a number of rounds.

Does it make a sound on each interval?

Yes, with tap sound on in your preferences, and it plays your target sound when the routine is done. On phones that support it, it vibrates as well.

Can I still tap to count while the timer runs?

By default the timer does the counting while it runs. Pause it to correct the number, or turn on Manual counting while running in the counter settings.

Can I keep the interval timer on screen while I work?

Yes, in Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the interval timer floats above your other windows above your workout video or playlist, still counting rounds, with pause inside it. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is Tapsle free?

Yes. Unlimited counters, targets, steps, notes, lock, focus mode, pop out and export are free, with no account. Free includes up to 5 groups and 1 counter on a timer. Tapsle Plus adds sync, backups, longer history, shared counters and integrations, for $2.99 a month or $25.99 a year.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.

Keep moving. We will keep count.
