What is a tally counter?

A tally counter adds one each time you press it, so you can count without keeping the number in your head. Tapsle is a tally counter in your browser, with as many counters as you need, each with its own name, target and note.

  • One tap adds one, minus takes one away
  • Count by 1, 5, 10 or any step
  • Several tallies side by side
  • Space bar and arrow keys on a keyboard
Your tally, in Tapsle

Count more than one thing, side by side.

Give each thing its own counter, for example adults and children at a door. Set the step to count in groups, and undo a slip with one tap on minus.

Tally counter vs a hand clicker

A metal hand clicker is fast and needs no screen. It also counts one thing at a time and resets if you knock the button. Tapsle keeps many tallies at once, remembers them after you close the page, and lets you undo a mistaken tap.

Counting more than one thing

Add a counter for each thing you track, for example adults and children at a door, or cars and bikes at a junction. Each counter keeps its own number, colour and note, and the total is always one glance away.

Online tally counter or hand clicker?

Tally counter questions

Does the tally counter save my count?

Yes. Every tap is saved in your browser straight away, so the count is still there when you come back on the same device, even offline.

Can I count more than one thing at once?

Yes. Add as many counters as you need. Each has its own name, colour, target and note.

Can I use my keyboard?

Yes. Space or the up arrow adds one, and the down arrow takes one away.

Is Tapsle free?

Yes. Unlimited counters, targets, steps, notes, lock, focus mode, pop out and export are free, with no account. Free includes up to 5 groups and 1 counter on a timer. Tapsle Plus adds sync, backups, longer history, shared counters and integrations, for $2.99 a month or $25.99 a year.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Can I keep the tally on screen while I work?

Yes, in Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the tally floats above your other windows, with +1 and −1 inside it, so you can count while you read, watch or type. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.
