What is a step counter?

A step counter keeps a running total of how far you walk. Tapsle is a manual step counter: add steps by the hundred with one tap, or type in the number from your watch or phone, and watch the ring fill toward your daily goal.

  • Count by 100, 500 or any step
  • Type in a total with Set value
  • A daily goal, such as 10,000
  • Resets every morning on its own
Your steps, in Tapsle

Count in hundreds, not ones.

Set the step to 100 and each tap adds a hundred steps. Already know the number? Use Set value and carry on from there.

Why Tapsle does not count steps by itself

Your phone’s own step counter uses its motion sensor, which a web page cannot read reliably. Tapsle keeps the count you give it, so you can combine steps from a watch, a treadmill and a walk without counting any twice.

Laps, floors and walks

Add a counter for anything you do on foot: laps of the track, flights of stairs, dog walks. Each keeps its own goal and resets on its own schedule.

Step counter questions

Does Tapsle count my steps automatically?

No. Tapsle does not read your phone’s motion sensor. Tap to add steps, or type in the total from your watch or phone with Set value.

Can I add steps by the hundred?

Yes. Set the step to 100, or any number, and each tap adds that many.

Does the count reset every day?

Yes, if you set the counter to reset daily. Past days stay in your history.

Is Tapsle free?

Yes. Unlimited counters, targets, steps, notes, lock, focus mode, pop out and export are free, with no account. Free includes up to 5 groups and 1 counter on a timer. Tapsle Plus adds sync, backups, longer history, shared counters and integrations, for $2.99 a month or $25.99 a year.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Can I export my counters?

Yes, free. Export saves every counter to one file, and Import brings them back on any device. Your counts belong to you.

Can I keep the counter on screen while I work?

Yes, on Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the counter floats above your other windows, with +1 and −1 inside it, so you can count while you read, watch or type. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.

What is the difference between Free and Plus?

Free is the counter: unlimited counters, up to 5 groups, 1 timer counter, targets, offline use, export and 7 days of history. Plus is memory: sync across up to 5 devices, nightly backups, 60 days of history with charts, shared counter links, unlimited groups and timers, and integrations. Cancelling Plus never removes a counter.
