What is a Google Sheets habit tracker?

A Google Sheets habit tracker keeps your habits in a spreadsheet, one row at a time. Typing into a sheet on a phone is slow, so Tapsle does the counting and adds the rows for you, with the date, habit name and count.

  • One tap per habit, on any device
  • A row added to your sheet each session
  • Daily targets that reset each morning
  • Your own charts and formulas in Sheets
Your habits, in Tapsle

Count on your phone. Keep the record in Sheets.

Connect Google Sheets once from Integrations. Tapsle creates a spreadsheet called Tapsle in your Drive and adds a row for each counting session, with the date, habit name and count, so your sheet stays up to date without typing.

What each row contains

Every session adds a row to the Sessions tab: the counter and its group, when you started and finished, the total, the target, how long it took and your peak pace. Build a chart, a streak formula or a weekly summary on top of it, the same way you would with any sheet.

Why count in Tapsle, not in the sheet

A sheet is a good record and a slow way to log. Tapsle is one tap on the card or anywhere on the screen in focus mode, and it keeps counting offline.

Tapsle or a paper habit chart?

Google Sheets habit tracker questions

Do I need Plus to use Google Sheets?

Yes. Counting habits is free, and the Google Sheets integration is part of Tapsle Plus.

What does each row contain?

Every session adds a row to the Sessions tab: the counter and its group, when you started and finished, the total, the target, how long it took and your peak pace.

Which spreadsheet does it write to?

Tapsle creates its own spreadsheet called Tapsle in your Google Drive, with a Sessions tab and an Activity tab. It can only see the files it creates, not the rest of your Drive.

Is Tapsle free?

Yes. Unlimited counters, targets, steps, notes, lock, focus mode, pop out and export are free, with no account. Free includes up to 5 groups and 1 counter on a timer. Tapsle Plus adds sync, backups, longer history, shared counters and integrations, for $2.99 a month or $25.99 a year.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Can I export my counters?

Yes, free. Export saves every counter to one file, and Import brings them back on any device. Your counts belong to you.

Can I keep the counter on screen while I work?

Yes, on Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the counter floats above your other windows, with +1 and −1 inside it, so you can count while you read, watch or type. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.

What is the difference between Free and Plus?

Free is the counter: unlimited counters, up to 5 groups, 1 timer counter, targets, offline use, export and 7 days of history. Plus is memory: sync across up to 5 devices, nightly backups, 60 days of history with charts, shared counter links, unlimited groups and timers, and integrations. Cancelling Plus never removes a counter.
